School

School starts in a week. Let's just say I am not excited. It's my senior year, but I do not want to wake up early and have homework. Ew. Haha. Oh well. And, next Thursday I am going to Arizona for ten days. .....................................

100th Post

This is my one hundredth post on this blog! So, I'm putting some purpose behind it. It's a special occasion. I won't waste your valuable time with useless crap about my life. So I am giving you ADVICE!

[I wanted to change things up a bit.]

ADVICE TIME:: 

**Note: This "advice" [if that's reeeeaaaallly what you would like to call it] is in no particular order. I am simply typing it as it pops into my head! AND. I might as well mention, it's probably very crappy advice. It's not my thing... If you would like good advice, talk to Frederick. It's his thing. Hooray!**

Number One: If you don't want people to find out about something you are doing/are contemplating doing... don't do it. Someone ALWAYS finds out. It's inevitable. 

Number Two: If you're doing something or contemplating doing something that you will seriously regret later in life (i.e. in two seconds, in an hour, in five hours, the next day, the next week, in a month, in six months, in NINE months, etc...) don't do it. 

Number Three: If you're doing something or contemplating doing something that is seriously going to injure someone physically OR mentally, don't do it. 

Number Four: If you're doing something or contemplating doing something that is going to make you feel like a bad person inside, don't do it. 

It's Like the Anti-Nike, "Don't Do It!" 

[Ha... you know, 'cause Nike's slogan is "Just Do It!"... No? Okay.. Moving on.] 

Number Five: Don't intentionally be rude to others. --Sometimes accidents dooooo happen, if you are rude, APOLOGIZE! it's not brain surgery people!-- 

Now, I must admit that I am VERY guilty of this...crime. 

It's one of the things I am best at in life. 

But, as my dear old Mumsie says, "Do as I say, not as I do." 

Number Six: Smile at strangers. Why? It's polite. You don't know that person, therefore, you don't know their life. Your one little smile coulda' just made their whole day brighter! Now don't that make you feel good?

While typing this one, 

I pretended like I was speaking in a Southern accent. 

Haha.  

Number Seven: Now here's a novel idea, if someone smiles at you, smile back! Let their smile make your day brighter! 

Again, I don't always do this... 

I sometimes pretend I didn't see them 

OR I ignore it 

OR I give them an unenthusiastic half smile. 

Number Eight: Respect other people's opinions. Just because someone has a different idea than you doesn't mean you need to ignore them or tell them their stupid. 

*Cough* Apppppparently, I do this A LOT. 

According to my dear boyfriend. 

I don't see it... 

But it's his opinion, so Imma respect it. Heh.

Number Nine: Don't judge people based on their physical appearance. It is not your problem nor your concern if they are [in your opinion] fat, ugly, too tall, too short, too pierced/tattooed, or have a weird haircut/hair color. So what it they are missing a few teeth, or have a mole on their face? It don't matter if they are black or white or yellow or blue or green or brown or red! They is people, they is just like you, get over yourself. Don't stare at them either! It's rude, and it hurts their feelings. 

I don't tolerate this. 

I'm sure I have have done/ do this regularly, but I don't tolerate it. 

I DO judge people based on what they're wearing a lot.... I'll admit that... 

I was made fun of A LOT for being fat as a kid. 

I know first hand what it feels like. Don't do it. 

Number Ten: Don't make fun of people, period. Don't make fun of them for not being as smart as you. Don't make fun of them because they are smart. Don't make fun of them for not liking sports. Don't make fun of them because they are "nerds". Just don't. 

Again, this has happened to me a lot.

Frederick John Schneider IV

Frederick is coming over tomorrow! And I am excited! I miss him! Even though I saw him on Monday... haha. I'm still excited!

Yes, this is what I look like. I grew fur! And enormous cheeks! 

He gets to see me with my chipmunk cheeks.

We're gonna watch Hot Rod! And Ferris Beuller's Day Off! I haven't seen Hot Rod, and he hasn't seen Ferris! So exciting! Haha. It's really our only option, I am kind of refusing to talk at the moment. It hurts.

Precious!

He's also going to read me Skippyjon Jones! One of my favorite books! [I own the GIANT version!] It's so adorable that we read to each other!

And, we'll eat chicken noodle soup or Ramen noodles together. Well, I will. Who knows what he'll eat. He currently had more options, considering he can chew...

Summer 2012

Those of you who have seen me lately, should know that I am fairly tan. I mean, I don't look like a Latina or anything, but compared to the usual me, I am tan. Which is normal. I do usually tan. I have my entire life. I am PROUD to say, however, that I have NEVER, NOT ONCE used a tanning bed in my WHOLE life. My tans are from the sun.

Anyway, even though I do tan, I also burn. A lot. Usually just on my face and shoulders though. Which is so so so so so unhealthy. This year, I haven't worn sunscreen anywhere on my body except my face, once. Which is SO bad.

Hello, Skin Cancer! 

So, next year [and the rest of this year] I am making many changes to my summer skin care routine. I have no interest in developing melanoma or looking wrinkly and leathery at age 30 all because I want to have a darker skin tone two and a half months out of the year. How stupid could I possibly get??? How stupid could you possibly get???

So, my changes for next year include the following: 

Kind of like this one. Probably not pink though! 

I am buying a hat!!! A cute hat. A cute wide-brimmed beach hat! I look cute in hats. I'm literally SO excited! Not only will my hat protect my face [which is so important, I love my summer-time freckles, but they're a sign of skin damage] but it will also protect my shoulders and my HAIR! I HATE when my hair fades in the summer! So, with my hat I will be protecting [haha... funny] THREE birds with one stone! 

An array of sunscreens for your viewing pleasure!

I'm investing in a good quality 30 SPF sunscreen. Actually, two of them. One for my face and one for my body. Oh! And one for your lips! They need protection too! [Burt's Bee's works.] I'll use the one for my face all year round, and the one for my body only when I expect large amounts of sun exposure and anytime during the summer [then I'll have to re-apply throughout the day]. Head-to-toe coverage will be my aim! It'll be a pain, but my skin will thank me! I'm not sure on a brand yet, so I'm sorry. Not that you really care, Frederick. Haha. ♥

For those of you who WANT to be tan, use a self tanner. It's safe and a lot healthier. My mom uses Toma's Tan Self-Tanning Lotion. {But it at Sally Beauty Supply.] It legitimately works. You put it all over your body, [wear gloves or you will have orange hands and fingernails] and let it dry. You WILL be orange, but no worries, it washes off. They put a dye in the lotion so you can see where you have and haven't rubbed the lotion it. It keeps you from getting an uneven, streaky tan. [Genius. A woman invented that.]  My mom puts it on before she goes to bed and sleeps in it. Then, when she takes a shower the next morning, ta-da! She's tan! But, she does it several days in a row. 

SO darling! I would wear this, to be honest. 

For those day that I DO go swimming, or I wear a swimsuit, I'm possibly switching to a tankini. [Or like the above picture, a more modest bikini.] Maybe... I haven't quite decided on this one yet. It would be weird. I'll definitely NOT go back to one pieces. They are WAY too hard to get on and off. But, my tummy burns a lot. And it's very uncomfortable! So if I could find a cute one that covered my tummy [no one wants to see that anyway] it is possible I would buy one. 

A DECENT pair of sunglasses would be LOVELY too. Aviators are my favorite. Tortoise shell is my favorite color!  I already have terrible eyesight. I can see about six inches in front of my face clearly. Farther than that, it's all blurry. So, sun damage to my eyes is VERY unwanted. I also burn underneath of my eyes very easily. It's so painful! And it will cause wrinkles and puffiness under my eyes. Ew! The sunglasses should be HUGE. They shoulder cover my eyebrows and the tops of my cheek bones. All the skin under your eyes is vulnerable and very thin. So, I will be buying sunglasses and wearing them ALL year round. You can get sun damage in the winter!  I only have one set of eyes. Gotta keep 'em good. I'm only seventeen, you know. 

I spend a lot of time just sitting in the sun, so an umbrella is an easy fix to that! I can sit outside, drink my sweet tea, and enjoy the warm weather without having the sun beating down on my precious skin! Plus, you can buy beach umbrellas that are totally ADORABLE! And I loooove adorable things! The umbrella should be light colors. Light colors reflect sunlight, and dark colors absorb it. It'll keep you cooler. 

I MUST buy this! It has my boo's name on it! And it's water! 

DRINK WATER! I've already given up soda, and my precious energy drinks. And actually, to be honest, I don't miss them at all. I cannot, however, give up my precious sweet tea, or my occasional coffee. But I have found an alternative that I can drink more often to those things: 

1. Water [duh.] I dare you to drink ONLY water for a WHOLE week. You'll fall in love. 

Passion tea! Don't sweeten it. 

2. Iced green teas, or any other tea [Tazo is my favorite brand] you brew at home. 

Passion is a really yummy fruity flavor that doesn't require ANY sweetener 

if you are a fan of the sweet stuff! It's SO good! And it's a pretty pink color! 

So yeah! I hope you enjoyed yet another health-nut rant of mine! Maybe it'll inspire you to take better care of your skin, and bring pasty back! 

Hair

I'm getting my hair cut today! I am NOT excited. I want it long. But, I'm trimming the ugly blonde ends off, so when I dye it PROBABLY RED it wont be 5 different colors. ...That may be a bit of an exaggeration, but, you catch my drift! Normally, I argue (jokingly) with my hair dresser. That shan't happen today, sadly. My face hurts too bad to talk. Haha. But oh well. I am going to ask him what color red he thinks I should dye my hair! I am excited about that!

I am utterly in love with this color. I just have to get rid of my tan!

I'm supposed to be eating applesauce and drinking water. I took a sip of water to swallow a pill, and a few bites of applesauce. Food just isn't appealing right now.

I signed up for Pottermore today! I don't really know what that means, but I'm excited! Haha! I honestly have NO idea what it is... But oh well, I'm very sad that all the books are written and all the films have been made. I love Harry Potter!

Dylan can't find a good blog name. This is sad. I had the same problem when I created my blog. It is possibly the most frustrating thing in the world. I feel bad for poor Dylan!

I got a skype, and I'm skyping my friend Dylan! (: Haha! We finally met! So cool, right?! Right!

Natural

So, I'm on this whole natural body care kick. My shampoo is sulfate and paraben free and my conditioner is sulfate free. Haha I'm really not sure what that means, all I know is that those things are very bad for you. [A paraben is a preservative and sulfate makes things foam.] Basically, it's like milk or meat without hormones or organic fruit. Not necessary, but probably a heck of a lot better for you. So I'm slowly trying to take all of those things out.

This is a very very interesting website, that kind of shows you how many chemicals we put into and on our bodies everyday! To me, it's very scary!

This is the conditioner I use. L'Oreal Paris EverStrong Reconstruct Conditioner. It smells like rosemary and mint. Which, to some may smell like men's shampoo. But after awhile, it smells fresh and clean. I like it a lot! That have other kinds besides the reconstruct conditioner. My sister used it, and it made her hair really greasy. I use it because the ends of my hair are fried because I bleached them! My hair is so soft! [Also, I haven't blow dried or straightened my hair in a month.]

This is my shampoo! Simpy U volumizing shampoo! Got it at Walmart! I love it! It doesn't really have a distinct smell, but it doesn't smell bad. Plus, my conditioner makes up for the lack of smell; it is very fragrant! You might find at first, that your hair looks oily and greasy, but after a few days, that should go away. Your hair is just used to being stripped of its natural oils everyday, so it mass produces it. But since this doesn't strip your hair, your body won't have to overcompensate. Click Here to go to a blog that talks about this shampoo and it's conditioner. I should probably switch hair sprays too, but I can't part with my Paul Mitchell Freeze and Shine! Haha. It's so lovely! 

I use Burt's Bee's or eos chapsticks. [Which I've used for awhile now, and it's nice knowing that they are paraben free!] Yay! 

It doesn't really have a smell. 

It smells like honeydew! 

Next, I'm switching deodorants, body washes, shave cream, face wash, toothpaste, face/body lotions and makeup!

Tom's of Maine [sold at Walmart, Target, etc.] sells an all natural deodorant, body wash and toothpaste! That's what I plan on switching to! Exciting! Haha! I want to go to Walmart! They also sell mouthwash, dental floss, soap, etc.

Burt's Bees sells toothpaste, body washes, shampoos, conditioners, face washes, etc. I'll probably go to them for face wash and stick with the for my chapstick! They sell sunscreen too for those of you who use sunscreen! I usually just put it on my face! Burt's Bees is more expensive than normal products, so beware...

eos sells lotion and shave cream [as well as my other chap stick!]. I plan on using them for shave cream and possibly lotion, but it seems kind of expensive.

Korres is a makeup brand sold at Sephora. I think I'm going to try out their Watermelon Tinted Moisturizer with 30 SPF sunscreen. [Pictured above.] It's $30, but it will serve as my foundation, my moisturizer, and my sunscreen. Well worth the money in my opinion. I have to go in store to try it out though... I may not like it. The reviews said it smells really good though.

I also want to try their pencil eyeliner in black. [$18.] Kind of pricey, but I wear Clinique now, so it's not that much different.

Tarte, is another brand you can purchase at Sephora. I think I am going to [bravely] try their Lash Hugger Natural Mascara in black. [Pictured above.] I'm going to be honest and say I'm terrified. I love love love Covergirl LashBlast! But it's not all natural or paraben-free... so. But this seems to be the best kind [and cheapest] for my needs. I'm scared to not have my LashBlast brush, but hopefully I will survive.

I'm also for sure purchasing [for my fall/winter bright red lip color needs] their LipSurgence Natural Matte Lip Tint in fiery red! I'm excited for this one! It shouldn't dry my lips put like my Clinique lipstick does. And it's the same price as my Clinique lip liner, so Mumsie will appreciate that! I do have to go in store for this though, because they color may not match my skin tone... that's an issue for me sadly.

I'm excited for my new natural products! it's going to be a little expensive, but hopefully it will be worth it!

Closet

I'm finished cleaning out my closet! It was a catastrophe! Oh my goodness! Haha! It honestly doesn't look any different, except it's more organized and it's color and clothing type coded. There's not anymore room in there though. Blehhh. I still have too many clothes. I've decided for the next 6 months maybe that every time I buy a new article of clothing [i.e. shirt... actually, really only shirts.] I have to get rid of one shirt, until all the useless and ugly clothes are out of my closet. Haha. I have issues parting with my clothes! It's sad.

I'm Blogging

I'm a busy bee. I have so many things I NEED to do, I just don't feel like doing them.... Which technically means I'm a LAZY bee... Bzzz. I'm a dork!

I'm a very lazy bee. I slept until 12:18 this morning! But, I got home at 3:00 A.M. so it's okay. Harry Potter was AMAZING bee.tee.dubz. It was beautiful! Everyone should go see it! It was so good, I didn't get up to pee through the 2 + hour long movie. And I had to pee BAD. I drank four cups of water prior to the movie. Bad idea, broskiiis. Bad idea.  

 So, McKenna came home from camp today... yay... Haha. I really wish I chad gone to camp... So I may be going on Plunge after all. I still haven't decided. [Frederick, if you read this... you should talk to me about it... haha.] I kind of want to. I want to get out of the house. Really bad. It could be fun... and challenging. [Ew.] I should just quit being a baby and go!

Today I went to the Starbucks in Macy's to see if they were hiring. They're not. In case you were wondering. BUT. They are getting ready to hire their seasonal staff! So they took my name and number and are supposed to have their manager call me! Ahhh! How exciting would that be?! I really need that job! Haha! So bad! And i would LOVE working there!! Gosh!

After I'm done with this post, I have to go clean out my closet. Ew. It's so FULL, I can't fit anymore clothing in there. It's literally impossible. It's a wonder the pole that is holding my clothes up hasn't broken! I have to weed out all my old clothing that is too big...[I've lost 25+ lbs...basically 30!]... I need to weed out the old clothing that is just old and I will never wear again... I need to organize my shoes... And just get all the crap out of my closet. Get ready for school. Ew. Haha. Senior 2012 baby! Still, ew. I'll try to take pictures and post them! Haha. It's going to be scary! 

Poor Sammi! She's so hot, she's laying on the tile in our entry hall panting. She doesn't feel good. This extreme heat is NOT good on my puppies! They don't like it. So, I'm kind of ready for fall. I' ready for pumpkins, and apple cider, and jackets, and bonfires, and hot cocoa, and s'mores , and apple orchards, and all the fun things that come with  Fall! it will be fun!

Help!!!

Today

I went shopping literally all day today. I am exhausted. I exchanged my TOMS from Frederick [and learned that my left foot is bigger than my right foot], and  I got a new pair of TOMS. I am a happy camper. I do have a pretty bad headache though. It kind of sucks... But Frederick is coming over in two hours!

Yay!

Beards

Today, I was putting sunscreen on Morgan before we left to take him to school/camp/daycare [it's like all three]. Anyway, I was using the kind you rub on instead of spray on. When I got to his legs, I was surprised at how hairy they are. [The kid is a walking furball, let me tell you. It's so funny!] "Woah! Dude your legs are hairy!" I said laughing. "I know!" he exclaimed. "It's like a beard!" It was so funny. He wants a beard so bad because my dad has a lot of facial hair, so he is proud that he can grow a beard on his legs.

Mumsie and I are going to Nordstroms at the Oak Park Mall tomorrow to exchange my beautiful red TOMS! I am soooo excited! They are already my favorite TOMS, and I haven't worn them yet! They are too big. Sadness. It's really weird too. They're a size eight. My gold ones are a size eight. My "black" ones are a size eight also. But my red ones slip off my foot, so I realllly hope a seven and a half fits. Delaney will be devastated if it doesn't. I will legitimately cry. We also may have to take Beau to the doctor tomorrow. His left headlight sometimes doesn't come on and when I lock him, he doesn't beep. He is sick. I am sad. Haha. My mom and I filled him up last night at about twelve, and she reset my mileage gauge thingy and we drove 85 miles today, and today was a light day. Normally we drive way more than that. I swear, I live in my car. Well, not MY car, but a car in general. I've only had my car three weeks.

French

I really want to learn French for some odd reason. Weird, I know. Actually, it's really not. Spanish is just really really boring. Unfortunately, my school does not offer French. They offer Spanish... and Chinese. What the heck! So, I was thinking I could take a basic French class online. I could, except I won't have time. It occurred to me that I would actually have to study for an online class, and I already have a pretty hard schedule as it is. So... maybe I'll take it in college... or maybe I will end up taking it online.

I think Cookies and Cream ice cream is my favorite kind of ice cream. <3 ...I thought we were out of it tonight... but I found another carton. I was a very happy camper... except it's 10:52 and I shouldn't be eating ice cream. Ha.

Morgan was very uncooperative during our interview, haha. Five year olds are not very good at holding conversations. But, he loves Frederick. Haha.

Morgan

The Chubbz has his first swimming lesson tonight. Everybody say, "Awe!" He's very excited. I just heard him ask my mother if it was time to go yet. he loves swimming. A couple of weeks ago, he fell in my neighbors pool without his life jacket on. He almost died... not really, but really... He could have I suppose. But Mumsie rescued him. So now he is going to learn how to swim! Exciting! He told my mom that if he is the only boy in his class [there will be four of them] that he isn't returning. A few weeks ago, he went to his first and only gymnastics class. It was composed of him, and a horde of two-year old girls in pink tutus. He hates pink tutus. "Boys don't wear tutus, do they?" He asked. My mom said he stood there and cried until it was time to go. He has refused to go back. 


Morgs, is a "manly man". He does not like to be associated with females. He thinks of himself as being better than girls. "The only girls I like is my sissys!" he says. 

I asked him why boys are better than girls. His reply: "Because I'm one." Arrogant little sucker, isn't he?

You know the candy Hot Tamales? Have you ever noticed that after eating them they leave a weird aftertaste in your mouth that tastes like a really bad potpourri? Well, they do. Right now, my mouth tastes like an array of fragrant, dried fruits and flowers.

School

Today I had to go into school to figure out what classes I am taking next year. Yes, I am a procrastinator, I am very aware. I'm very upset. Want to know why? Well, I was only supposed to take  four hours this year. Now, I  have to take seven. Let's just say, Delaney is NOT a happy camper. I'm taking: Chemistry, College Western Civ./College American History, Broadcast Journalism?, College English, Bible, and College Spanish III. I also may be a cadet for one of my teachers, or I might just have a study hall. It just depends. I am SO not looking forward to this next year. I have to get a job. And I am probably going to take some online classes too [personal finance, maybe French, whatever else strikes my fancy]. Major SUCKAGE, dudes! Senior year is going to kill me! I do get to leave one hour early though, which is very very nice. But I wanted to leave after fourth hour. Goodness! C'est la vie.

My sister left for camp today at noon. She's never been to camp before! I hope she has fun! I loved it last year. I didn't go because I didn't want Mumsie to pay for it! Haha. I'm a saint, I know.

Frederick wants me  to go to Plunge with his church this year. I don't actually know what it is... I just know it's a week long. And I don't think I want to go. I wouldn't know anyone, and it would be scary. I am such a baby. Plus, I wouldn't feel like I was going for God. I'd kind of feel like I was going for Frederick. But I would hardly see Frederick. But it would give me something to do instead of sitting around the house utterly miserable while he is gone... like I did when he was on Quest. So I don't know what I should do. My mom kind of told me I could go today.  But she may have been kidding. And I don't know what Harve would say... Oi.

Life

So basically I have no idea what I am doing with my life. I don't have a career picked out. I'm not allowed to go to the college I want to go to. (UMKC) I have no hobbies. I have no talents. Life in the future should be interesting for me haha. I don't have a job. I have a car, but nowhere to go in my car. Major suckage dudes.

Frog

I'm sure I've blogged about this before, but there is a frog that lives outside my window. I am up late every night in the summer. The light shining through my window attracts bugs of various kinds. This in turn attracts this frog [sometimes frogs]. I like to sit on my bed and watch the frog move around my window trying to eat the bugs. It's really cute.

[OH! He just caught one! Haha! Ahhh! kind of morbid...]

His feet are super cute! His toes are long! He needs a name! Eddie. It's decided!

Silly little Eddie! This is the third summer he [actually, I don't know if it is always the same frog] has returned to my window to eat bugs! Thanks to my staying up late at night, Eddie doesn't starve!

Well, besides an Arnold Palmer. (which I am currently drinking!) -- For those of you who don't know, it's half iced tea and half lemonade! So delish!

I love... well I don't really know what it is called. Haha I should name it!

All I know is, you mix milk and honey together; top it with cinnamon and heat it up! It's yummy! ♥ Go try it! It puts me to sleep.

Today

Today was a lovely day all around. Surprisingly!

I had lunch with an old friend. Well, two old friends really. Made a new friend. Had dinner with my boyfriend at Chipotle. ♥ Walked around Borders with Frederick. He read me Where The Wild Things Are and i read him SkippyJon Jones! <---- That has to be the CUTEST book EVER written! ♥ We BOTH loved it! It's so funny! And i got to talk with a Spanish accent. We drank Starbucks and talked about life with Frederick. He gave me my birthday present. RED TOMS! I've wanted red TOMS for forever! But they are too big. And I am absolutely devastated! I want to wear them! But I will get them next week! I got to drive by myself today! (Never mind the fact that my mom followed me the whole time... Beau is neither licensed nor insured...)

Now I am listening to Arcade Fire.

Tomorrow I am going to Sophia's for a Harry Potter marathon! It shall hopefully be a good day too! I am excited! I love spending time with Sophia. And my new friend Regan!

Next week I am going thrift store shopping! I am literally SO excited! I want an ear cuff. And some new scarves! And high-waisted denim jeans/shorts! I probably won't find any of that stuff, but it's what I am looking for. Also anything green or yellow. And shoes! But, I really only wear TOMS so that is kind of pointless....

Hopefully I am going to dye my hair next week too! I can't decided whether to dye it darker, or redder... Hmmm? Not a fake red... A pretty mermaid red! I'm still growing my hair out too! It's slowly but surely growing! I'd be okay, if my bangs would hurry up and grow out, honestly... but they are being stubborn! Silly bangs...

Chipotle

I love Chipotle!
I'm going to Chipotle with Frederick later tonight.
Needless to say, I am excited!
I love their burrito bowls. I am not a fan of their tortillas.
But i do get a normal burrito every once in a while.


What do I put on said delicious burrito/ in delicious burrito bowl do you ask?

Let me tell you!

Recipe For Burrito Perfection:
Usually, it starts with the bowl, occasionally a tortilla.
They add some of their delish rice!
Accompany that with their yumm-o black beans.
I ALWAYS omit the meat; veggie is the way to go yo!
Next comes the corn salsa... and the hot salsa. Girl like her spice. Mhmm.
Then, sour cream and cheese are placed on top.
Add a big green dollop of the wonderfulness known as guac!
And to top it all off, sprinkle it with some lettuce.
Then I pay, and I walk over and drizzle Tabasco sauce all over it! Again, guuuurl likes her spiiiiice.
